1. What is the Tata Play Binge+ Smart Android Box?

It is a smart set-top box that, once connected to a TV, allows subscribers to watch both traditional TV channels and OTT content on a single device. 2. Which Tata Play Fiber customers are eligible for the Binge+ Smart Android Box?
  • Customers who are currently subscribed or newly subscribing to Lite, Prime, or Mega plans with 3M, 6M, or 12M validity are eligible.
  • Lite and Prime users must first complete the selection of 4 and 6 OTT apps respectively to qualify for the offer.

However, customers who have already availed a box earlier through Tata Play Fiber, or users who have availed the free to use box offer earlier or existing Tata Play customers who already have four Android boxes on their Tata Play account, will not be eligible.

3. Do I need to buy a Smart TV to use Binge+?

No, simply connect the Binge+ box to your regular TV (HDMI port needed) and enjoy a complete Smart TV experience.

4. Do customers need to pay an additional amount to acquire the box?

No. The box is provided free to use, with no additional charges.

5. Is a dish antenna required to set up the Android set-top box?

Yes, installation of a dish antenna is required.

6. Are there activation charges for the box?

- Yes, for a first connection, a one-time recharge of INR 200 in the Tata Play wallet is required for activating the box.

- In case the customer already has an active Tata Play connection and avails a subsequent connection OR if the customer has an active Tata Play connection, but decides to upgrade his existing connection to Binge+ Box through TPF’s offer, in the case:

Tata Play requires a minimum balance of INR 150 at the time of box activation (including subsequent connections, multi-TV, or upgrades). If the customer’s balance is below INR 150, they will need to recharge a minimum of INR 200 on the platform.

7. Is the customer required to do a recharge every month to keep the box active?
  • For OTT-only usage (apps included in Tata Play Fiber plans), no monthly recharge is needed. After doing a one-time recharge as mentioned above, the customer must pause the box and continue viewing the OTT apps bundled with TPF plans without the need for doing any separate recharge.
  • For watching TV channels from Tata Play DTH packs, monthly recharge as per the selected pack is required and the box must not be paused.

To pause the box, the user needs to open the Tata Play app, go to My Account, navigate to Manage Packs, and choose Pause Box.

8. What is the INR 200 charge at the time of Tata Play Binge+ box activation?
  • If no paid DTH channels or DTH packs are selected, INR 174 is charged towards the Network Capacity Fee (NCF).
  • From the day after installation, customers may pause their DTH connection if they do not wish to continue watching DTH channels
  • Charges for the first day are calculated on a Daily Burn Rate (DBR) basis.
    • DBR = Pack price ÷ 30 days
    • Example: INR 174 ÷ 30 = INR 5.80 for one day
  • With the minimum charge of INR 174, customers get access to 266 Free-to-Air (FTA) channels (channel list subject to change from time to time).
9. Does the Binge+ box require Wi-Fi to access OTT apps?

Yes, a home Wi-Fi connection is needed for streaming OTT content.

10. How to connect the Binge+ box to Wi-Fi?

a. Press the Home button on the remote
b. Go to Settings
c. Select "Network & Internet."
d. Choose Wi-Fi and toggle ON
e. Select your network and enter the password

11. Does Binge+ work only with Tata Play Fiber?

To avail the free-box offer, you need an active Tata Play Fiber 3/6/12-month plan. However, once installed, box will work with any internet connection.

12. If a customer downgrades to a 1M Lite/Prime/Mega plan, do they need to return the box?

No. The customer can retain the box, but plan downgrades may impact OTT benefits or bundled services. Fiber plan T&Cs apply.

13. In what scenarios can a customer be denied the box?

Eligibility will depend on Tata Play Fiber’s plan criteria (speed and duration) and the following rules:

  • TPF Customers who have already availed a box earlier through Tata Play Fiber
  • Users who have availed the free to use box offer earlier
  • Existing Tata Play customers who already have four Android boxes on their Tata Play account, will not be eligible.

Additionally, please note - Customers in possession of SD / HD box can either upgrade to an Android box or opt for an Android multi-TV connection (if the 4 box limit is not reached) when they receive the box offer link.

14. Do I have to pay any installation charges for the Binge+ box?

Installation is free for cable lengths up to 8 meters.
If the required cable exceeds 8 meters, an additional charge of INR 15 per extra meter will apply.

Note: If the customer requests any repairs later, the applicable charges will be communicated by the technician. If the customer reaches out to the call centre, the agents will also have the necessary information to guide them

15. What internet speed is recommended for the best Binge+ experience?

For smooth streaming, 4K playback (where supported), and lag-free casting, a minimum 100Mbps plan is recommended.

The Tata Play Binge+ is a 4K Android set-top box with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. Key features include:

Once your Fiber plan is activated, our team will contact you to schedule installation, typically within 24–48 hours.

18. Are OTT subscriptions included?

Free apps can be downloaded at no cost. 
Paid OTT services require separate subscriptions unless bundled under Tata Play Fiber packs.

19. Are YouTube and Netflix included with the Binge Box?

YouTube and Netflix apps can be installed on the Binge Box. However, subscriptions to these services are not included. Customers who wish to watch content on these apps can subscribe directly from the open market, which is typically more economical compared to bundled subscriptions offered by operators as part of their plans.
