- FTTP/FTTH: This is called Fiber to the premises or Fiber to the home, which stands for FTTP or FTTH. This is the sort that delivers up to 800 mbps with each connection. This connection mode is 30 times faster than even its own counterparts.
This is further sub-categorized into two types FTTH and FTTB. They are the same in terms of function and speed, and stability. It is the last mile coefficient that differentiates the two.
- FTTB: FTTB stands for Fiber to the building. It is exactly what it stands for. This fiber connection extends to a building and every section of it. Thus the optic cable is intersected by the coaxial cables or copper cable to make it reach the destinations for the connection.
- The application of this category for fast fiber broadband is more practical. FTTB is popularly used for schools, offices, banks, hospitals, or any other place that involves using the internet on multiple devices.

What happens here is that the Fiber is extended to the location, and the last mile is arranged with coaxial cables linked to the service provider. Thus, it is like a normal ISP scheme but with the speed and quality of fiber optics. Though the speed sometimes decreases, nothing on a dramatic level.
